Thank you to everyone who joined us for SBR’s Art Show on May 8th!
What began as an idea to connect through art became a joyful evening of music, conversation, and creative expression celebrating Philadelphia and each other. It was wonderful to see artists, families, friends, and supporters gather to share their talents, perspectives, and personal stories in such an uplifting environment. We are deeply grateful to every artist who contributed their work, every guest who attended, and everyone who helped bring the event to life.
The event became the kind of space we hoped to create—expressive, inclusive, and full of heart. The evening captured the diversity, sense of community, and artistic flair that make our city so special!
From the artwork on display to the conversations shared over snacks, the celebration was a beautiful reminder of the connection and creativity that bring people together.
Thank you for celebrating with us and helping make the night so memorable!
SBR Community Liberty Bell
When the city of Philadelphia announced its “Bells Across PA” public art installation to celebrate 250 years of America, SBR was quick to apply in hopes we would be awarded the opportunity to design a bell representing the disability community. When we were not chosen for this opportunity, we decided to take matters into our own hands and create our own Liberty Bell from scratch
Our SBR Community Liberty Bell, which became the centerpiece for the Art Show, was created using chicken wire and a pool noodle, which was then covered with a casting medium that was soaked in water and layered over the frame and wire. After several layers and significant drying time, artwork from our talented artists was placed on the bell with Mod Podge, making it a true work of art.
Special thanks to Chris F., who constructed the Liberty Bell, and Paula G., who brought the design to life.
We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to the many artists whose work was featured on the bell:
Jamie A., Damarith A., Kalif B., Angela C., Gina C., Andrew C., Francesca C., Desi H., Kristen K., Chris L., Turhan L., Matt M., Daniel R., Sam S., Brittany S., Cheryl T., Michelle W., and Andrea W.

Thank You to Our Community!
We are incredibly grateful to the schools, organizations, artists, community members, and supporters who helped make the SBR Art Show such a meaningful and memorable evening.
